Brett Duncan (Ricoh Canada inc.) - Vice-President
Greg Thorsley (CGI) - Past President
Greg is the Regional Vice President for CGI Edmonton. This position includes oversight of all aspects of the region. Previous to CGI, he was responsible for the National Health and Managed Services portfolios for Sierra Systems. Mr. Thorsley is a Computer Engineer and obtained his MBA in 2001.
Kathy Ervin (Alberta Health Services) - Secretary
Kathy has a keen interest in health informatics and extensive experience with integration and lab information. She led and served on many volunteer boards in her community and has training in the Board development program sponsored by the Government of Alberta Wildrose foundation. She has been in Healthcare for 40 years – over half of which has been in a variety of health system analyst and leadership roles. She is well connected within Alberta Health Services IT and Alberta Health IT Healthcare initiatives. She will continue to contribute to the evolution of bringing groups together in the quest for sustainable and effective Health IT systems and information.
Malcolm Steele (1414806 Alberta Inc.) - Treasurer
25 years of health care experience in Alberta. He has held senior positions at Alberta Health Including Executive Director of both Information Technology and Information Management. His consultancy experience included the position of Senior Manager at Andersen Consulting and Consulting Director/Health Practice lead at Sierra Systems. Now retired, he has been a member of the ANHIX Board for over fifteen years having served as Vice-President, President and Past President. He is currently the Treasurer, a position he has held for eleven years.
Heidi Bronson (1414806 Alberta Inc.) - Director
Heidi is an independent consultant with over 25 years of IM/IT experience in the health care industry. She was the Manager, Information Services for 12 years with the Northern Lights Regional Health Authority before joining Medisolution, a healthcare software company as Director, Professional Services. In that role, she was responsible for the support, implementation and maintenance of Medisolution's client base outside of Quebec. She worked for Medisolution for 8 years before undertaking several assignments as an independant consultant. Now retired, she has been a member of the ANHIX Board for over seventeen years serving many of those years as Secretary.
Candy Gregory (Alberta Health) - Director
Candy is Director, Primary Care Network (PCN) Operations with Albert Health (AH). She leads a team that supports PCN operations, grant management, compliance and monitoring, policy development and performance management and evaluation. Recent accomplishments include the development and roll out of ReportPCN, a web-based interface for PCNs to complete and submit operational documents to AH in compliance with grant agreement reporting requirements; and the Premiers Public Service team award for Community Information Integration. Candy is also the business owner of the Central Patient Attachment Registry, a provincial system that captures the confirmed relationship of a primary health care provider and their paneled patients.
Kevin Jones (Strata Health Solutions) - Director
Kevin is the Vice President of Client Development & Strategic Partnerships at Strata Health Solutions and has been in Healthcare Technology for 16 years. He has participated in large and small solution deployments within the health sector both as an Executive Sponsor and Project Lead. His experience collaboratively designing solutions would bring a strength to the ANHIX board. Kevin looks to increase collaboration between private industry and public sector to ensure the success of all digital health projects. As a member of both Digital Health Canada and CHIEF (Canada’s Health Informatics Executive Forum) Kevin brings national perspective to the Alberta Network for Health Information eXchange Society.
Sandra Lambert - Director
Sandra is a Business Architect / Senior Business Analyst, with 20 years of experience in IT. Her focus for the past 10 years has been primarily in the healthcare sector, working for healthcare plan administration organizations in the US and on contract here for Alberta Health. She is known for her analytical skills, collaborative spirit and sense of humour.
Don McIntosh (University of Calgary) - Director
He has 28+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, of which 6+ have been in the IT side of healthcare. He is a former clinician with comprehensive experience gained in the requirements and impacts of healthcare delivery and clinical information system development and deployment. As a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), he brings root cause solution finding, change management and strategic analysis skills to all engagements.
Brinda Narayan (CGI) - Director
Brinda is a management consulting professional who has been on Alberta’s health transformation journey for over 17 years. She has held multiple roles such as executive consultant, strategy/change management consultant, client relationship manager, project lead, and program QA manager. She has been involved in many digital health initiatives and has developed deep relationships with its stakeholders.
At CGI, Brinda is a Director, Consulting Services on a health project. She has recently accepted a position on one of Health City’s working groups, with a goal to collaborate with key players in industry and government to make a difference in our province.
Sherry Nicholaichuk (Alberta Health Services) - Director
Geoff Rabbie (KPMG)- Director
Geoff is a Manager in the Digital Health Practice at KPMG in Edmonton. His 20 years of healthcare experience is focused on strategic planning, project management, program management, system implementation, business analysis, portfolio management, operational support, change management and stakeholder engagement. He has worked on ehealth initiatives across Canada including the Atlantic Provinces, Ontario, the Northwest Territories and Alberta. In addition to being a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and trained in PROSCI change management, Geoff has a Bachelor of Science in Economics and serves as a Public Member on the Council of the College of Dieticians of Alberta.
Peter Smith (Strata Health Solutions Inc.) - Director
Peter is the Executive Vice President of Strata Health, a company that specializes in intelligent patient navigation throughout the continuum of care. He has worked for more than 20 years in technology across several industries including healthcare, transportation, eCommerce, banking, and construction. Peter has been a member of the ANHIX board since 2014 and served as Vice President in 2016/2017 and President in 2017/2018.
Carolyn Trumper (Alberta Health Services) - Director
Carolyn is the Executive Director of Integrated Quality Management, Clinical Information Systems, Nursing Clinical Education and Professional Practice in Central Zone, AHS, and faculty member in Health Policy and Quality Improvement in Healthcare Management. She has been in healthcare for over 30 years and has great depth and breadth of leadership in nursing, quality improvement, patient safety, accreditation, regulation, legislation and health policy. An accomplished health systems leader and known innovator she has worked collaboratively across the health system in integration and improvement of complex systems through effective partnerships with clinicians, academia, government, health regulatory colleges, associations and public agencies.
